How Te Ako Manaaki Framework works

The Te Ako Manaaki Framework has 5 core elements, which use 5 core principles to create a collaborate practice that improves outcomes for young people. Below is a visual summary of these, along with a high level five step process for establishing the framework.

The Te Ako Manaaki Framework is currently being used to:

  • address barriers to education for 12 to 18 year olds (West Auckland, North Auckland, Kaipara)
  • Avoid students being excluded from education, and bring together the supports and services needed to keep them engaged in learning (West Auckland, North Auckland, Kaipara, and other regions)
  • Address attendance issues for students, and help link them to the supports and services they need to improve their attendance and enagement in learning (West Auckland, North Auckland, Kaipara, and other regions)
  • Improve the way schools, government agencies, and community organisations work together to improve outcomes for young people in their community. (West Auckland)
